Location
The campground is located approximately 68km south of Dargaville, right on the Kaipara Harbour.
There are no shops or petrol stations in Pouto so make sure you stock up in Dargaville before you head down. The last 10km of the road is gravel, so drive accordingly.

Dog and Pet Friendly
The Pouto Marine Hall was originally built in 1884 and was used as a government office building and customs house, then as a dwelling. Today, this community hall is the heart of the campground and contains a well-supplied kitchen and dining area. It is a Category 2 Historic Place on the Heritage New Zealand list.
The campground has both powered and unpowered sites and two family rooms. The kitchen is well-supplied with an electric range and two gas hobs, and there is also a large lounge, toilets, showers and laundry facilities.
There is also no wifi so take the opportunity to unwind and forget the world.
